How To Avoid Getting Common Colds

coldThe common cold is an ailment that many people dismiss as nothing more than a little bug.  However, contracting even this seemingly very minor decease is an indication that your immune system is not as sturdy as you might think it is.  Here are few simple ways of keeping yourself from this very common malady.

Maintain a clean lifestyle.  Keep your surroundings clean and organized.  Make time to regularly clean your house especially your room and bathroom.  You may not notice it but the amount of dirt that accumulates in certain parts of the house that you often neglect is astounding.  Make sure that you scrub down the toilet seat and the toilet bowl with cleansers as often as you can manage.  Change bed sheets and pillowcases at least twice a week so as not to make a nesting ground for bed mites.  If at all possible, clean your mattress every month and air it out and put it under the heat of the sun.

Keep yourself away from vices such as smoking, excessive alcohol intake and drugs.  It is imperative that you keep your body strong and ready to ward off any possible infections.  Smoking, drinking, and taking drugs weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to infectious diseases.

Have yourself checked at least twice every year.  It is a common health practice for people to only visit the doctor when they get sick.  It never hurts to get regular check-ups just to make sure that your health is in good shape.

Take supplements.  Chances are, you are of the billions who aren’t healthy eaters.  Get your vitamin and mineral requirement from capsulated supplements.  Make sure to take the right dosage to offset your unhealthy habits.  However, nothing beats healthy eating habits.

You will do well to remember these simple health habits.
